A young husband and wife plan to cycle tip to pip through Latin America - Mexico to Tierra del Fuego - and back up to Buenos Aires, pedalling some 10,000 miles and raising money for Cancer Research.
We are seeking to work with interested parties to make a cost effective travel or adventure feature showing how two city slickers take on an unknown physical challenge and cope with unfamiliar climates, cultures and setbacks and successes along the way.
We would use a digital video day-to-day to give colourful impressions of what it is like to be on the road and capture incidents along the way. As well as the DVC footage we could hire a small local crew at key points along the route.
Our web site will give updates as we progress through the route. This will offer the viewer a 'complete package', with extra detail on us, our equipment, sponsors, how much we raised, diary, costs and fact sheets.
We believe that there is an audience for a program about Latin America that shows:
Jonathan O'Brien, 29, Management Consultant with Andersen Consulting, ex-rower and serious mountain-biker. Hot tempered, practical and determined. Likes to joke around.
Anne O'Brien, 29, Senior Consultant with a Marketing Consultancy, ex rower, serious swimmer. A dreamer. Sometimes hot headed. Chatterbox. Impulsive and likes to try out new things.
Both recently married, looking for a challenge to spice up our personal and professional horizons. We will both return to work after the trip - or can we face it ?!
Dates: Jan 1999-Jan 2000 (ending with millennium celebrations in Rio de Janeiro!)
