Larry has met Prince Charles (again). You can see his picture and an article in the Friends section of the photo album.
I am now back to one car; my Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor in Yellow. The number plate has also gone back to my old N1 CDT plate (its third set of plates). Picture is in the Photo Album.
I am now working at Exel Logistics, based in Bracknell, Berkshire (and have been since October 1999).
Had a new suit arrive from Ravis in Thailand (see my links page). It is really good, great fit, and has dry-cleaned OK. I sent an old suit as a pattern, but they take measurements over the Internet. Give it a go!
Benjamin Alexander Crossley was born on 20 February 2000 to Cynthia & Andy. Picture to follow.
Been on holiday to Courchevel with Silver Ski who were really good. Pictures are in the photo album under Vacations.
Done mountain bike trips to Wales and Dartmoor; my first proper off-road trips. Lots of sun in Wales with rain, just sun in Devon. Pictures are in the Photo Album.
Exchanged contracts on a house in Crowthorne near Bracknell. Completion was 24 August 2000. Pictures in the photo album under the new house section. The estate agent's description is here. Photos are from before I moved in, and hopefully the place will get demolished in 2002.
Completed my first sprint triathlon on 21 May 2000. 400m swim, 22km bike, 5km run in 1 hour 19 minutes 17 seconds. Came in 21st place, though it was only a novice one, so the times were generally quite slow.
Second triathlon completed on 25 June 2000. 400m swim, 32km bike ride and 8km run, though it was a lot more hilly than the last one. It was around Marlborough, near Swindon, at the end of the Ridgeway. Time was 1 hour 53 minutes 55 seconds, and I was in 101st place. My best part (surprisingly) was the swim with a 7 minutes 7 seconds time. Bike ride was 1:11:18 and the run was 35:30. Next one is an olympic length one in Milton Keynes at the end of July.
Third triathlon completed (photos in the album under sport) and it was my first Olympic length one (1.5km swim - in a lake, 40km bike ride and 10km run). Time was 2 hours 35 minutes 26 seconds, though Jonny lent me his road bike instead of my mountain bike, which improved my time somewhat. First two places were Andrew Johns & Tim Don off the Olympic team. Split times: Swim 32:16 Cycle 1:17:22 Run 45:48.
Charlie & MaryPat have had a baby - Christopher Joseph - born on 19 July 2000 at 16:35, length 53cm and weighing in at 4kg.
Moved in to my new house on 23 September. The scan of the topographical survey is here. The party is on 30 September. House designs should be appearing early in 2001 due to the architect's current workload.
Last vacation was in the Picos de Europa and some pictures are in the Photo Album. I did manage to get stitches in my knee due to going over my handlebars on a descent, but they are out now and the knee is healing pretty well (all the other scars from the scrape along the floor have disappeared, too). I am back in training again now, given Libby has encouraged me to do a last triathlon (short one) this season.
See my latest news in the Christmas news letter (disponible aussi en français)
Did a week's skiing in Les Arcs 2000 in France in March 2001 and the photos are in the Photo Album.
Dawn and Tim have had their second baby (Olivia) on Tuesday 30 January 2001, called Olivia.
First cut plans of the new house are now in the Photo Album, under House at the bottom (only text links to the plans at the moment). New designs have not yet been put up - sorry.
Realised I missed out some triathlon results. Brighton (full Olympic length) was 358th in 2h47m05s (swim 32:18, bike 1:21:56, run 53:31) in September 2000. Bath (another Olympic length) was 134th in 2h52m17s (swim 30:54, bike 1:29:26, run 51:57) in May 2001.
Went diving in the Rea Sea from Hurghada with a bunch of mates (not a liveaboard, though) and saw four sharks, two octopi, two turtles (with mating ritual in progress) and loads of other stuff - really good fun. As usual, the photos are in the Photo Album.
Planning permission was refused on the new house plans, since the plans are not in keeping with the rest of the area. Discussions have taken place with the planners to ensure I can get permission. New plans have now been submitted and more discussions are under way.
Windsor triathlon result from 17 June 2001 (olympic length starting in the Thames, mainly upstream) was 2:40:25 (swim 31:17, bike 1:22:34, run 46:34). It was a fun event with 1600 people taking part, so there were loads of people around throughout the course. A couple of photos are in the Photo Album.
Did the Crowthorne Duathlon at the Transport Research Lab (off-road for most of it) and it was very muddy (called the Summer Mudman). I was very surprised when I came in sixth in the fun race, and realised I would have been tenth in the main race. I was under two minutes off the winning time! Unfortunately no photos since the water damage to my camera from Egypt means it is irreperable, so time for a new camera. Times (with the winning times in brackets) were run 3.5km 13:51 (12:33), cycle 8km 29:35 (30:28), run 1.5km 6:27 (5:14).
I have added a link for Bank Holiday software (England and Wales only, I'm afraid) for the Palm and Handspring devices since sites were starting to send people here and they were not finding it.
Did the Windsor Half Marathon in under 1 hour 40 minutes (time on the web site didn't allow for time to cross the line, which I did over 5 minutes after the start, but even with electronic timing, they didn't note this). Also did the Crowthorne Sam Run (10k) in 43:30 (approx.)
Did a vacation in the Maldives on a liveaboard with Scuba Discovery on the Discovery. The photos are now in the photo album. Also went on Concorde to New York for Christmas, then down to Philadelphia & visited Xavier & Justine, then on to Washington DC to do the tourist bit and back up for New Year with Charlie & Mary Pat in Wilmington. Got my first Euros on 2 January when I got to the Netherlands.
Christmas letter for 2001 is here. Plus une version française.
Did the Wellington College 10k run in Crowthorne. I'll put my time up when I find it. Also did the Goring 10k (44:25) and the Wimbledon 10k (42:45 - thanks to chasing Jonny).
Visited Lapland Easter 2002, with husky dog sleds, snowmobiles and a bit of downhill skiing, then a quick visit to Helsinki on the way back.
Latest house plans are now up on the site in the Photo Album under House. The 'approval' meeting is set for end May 2002, but I'm not holding my breath given the hassle so far.
Did the Bracknell half marathon in 1:37:40, a personal best, though driven on by the Fitness Warehouse running club.
Photos now up in the album from dive trips to Indonesia & Egypt. I skipped my trip to Turkey from the photo album due to lack of time to set it up.
Christmas letter for 2002 is now online. Et aussi en français.
I was in South Africa in January 2003 to do community work via Exel: setting up a market garden for The Oaks Community Group, near Hoedspruit in the north east of the country. After that, I went diving near Durban in Kwazulu Natal, including the famous Protea Banks, diving with giant hammerheads and bull sharks with no cages.
I haven't been able to do triathlons in 2003 due to an injury from an operation on my leg near the end of 2002, didn't get through the lottery for the New York Marathon in November 2003 but have applied for the London Marathon Lottery for April 2004.
Amanda & Kevin had a baby daughter (Francheska Violet) on 6 April 2003. She is now more regularly known as Minky.
Planning permission was received on the house in Crowthorne on 29 May 2003.
Amanda & Kevin got married on 16 June 2003.
Visited Kazakhstan summer 2003, around the Almaty area, part of the time in the city, part in the mountains to the south.
Last vacations were a liveaboard in the Red Sea (VIP One) sailing from Sharm El Sheikh and Hyderabad in India for Kiran & Suchitra's wedding.
Christmas letter for 2003 is here, plus une version francaise.
Amandeep and Harpreet Madra had a baby boy on 1 January 2004. He weighed in at 3.4kg and the whole family is doing fine.
Alex & Tina had a baby boy (Finnley Thomas) on 13 January 2004, so now I'm an uncle for the second time.
Spent three months working in Japan from March to May 2004.  Photos of Japan are here.
Latest vacation was in Indonesia on Borneo staying on Mabul Island and diving Mabul, Kapalai and Sipadan.  Photos are not in the photo album but on Photobucket, here.
